Reporting to the Director, Information Systems, this position develops, implements and supports the IT Cyber Security & Compliance program corporate wide.  Responsible for maintaining the documentation of all IT security, change management and operations processes & policies.  Supports the quarterly data collection, verification and audit of all information system controls.  Monitors system audit logs and alerts for malicious external and internal actions. Support data collection and verification processes of all Inogen business department compliance & regulatory processes. Perform forensic analysis of infrastructure and application system logs.  Work with IT staff, internal and external auditors during Sarbanes-Oxley audits and other auditing events.  Maintain relationship with 3rd party vendors supporting the IT Cyber Security & Compliance program.  Support investigations and data collection requested by the Human Resources, Internal Audit, Compliance or other business management.

Key Competencies:

  • Develop, edit and review documentation of IT security, change management and operations processes & policies.
  • Execute periodic processes to collect data and verify IT security and compliance controls.
  • Obtain verification sign-offs from IT and business managers that current control configurations are correct and appropriate.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve controls and processes to increase security, eliminate vulnerabilities, improve system performance, reduce waste and lower cost.
  • Monitor infrastructure & application system logs and alerts for malicious events and work with IT staff to implement any required remediations.
  • Perform forensic investigations and analysis of IT infrastructure and application system logs.
  • Lead the data collection and verifications in preparation for Sarbanes-Oxley audits and other auditing events.
  • Support investigations and data collection requested by the Human Resources, Internal Audit, Compliance or other Inogen business management.
  • Follow IT security industry news about new tools, methods, threats, vulnerabilities and other relevant information and suggest enhancements and preventative actions to the Inogen IT Cyber Security & Compliance program.
  • Lead periodic IT security controls testing such as network penetration tests, phishing simulations, social engineering simulations, etc and use the test results to suggest enhancements and remediations to business processes, employee training and the Inogen IT Cyber Security & Compliance program.
  • Coordinate and facilitate obtaining support from 3rd party IT vendors and partners to assist in the development, management, testing and execution of the Inogen IT Cyber Security program.
  • Develop, create and deliver employee training on IT cyber security best practices, current threats, vulnerabilities and preventative actions.
  • Coordinate all activities with other IT employees and management.

Do you possess these abilities?

  • Broad knowledge of IT general computer controls, COBIT, corporate cyber security best practices and enterprise IT business processes. (Required)
  • Experience in administration of Microsoft Windows domains and file servers in an enterprise environment. (Required)
  • Experience in creating/maintaining Active Directory user accounts, security groups, file system permissions, group policies, Microsoft Exchange email accounts and other IT operational processes. (Required)
  • Strong analytical skills in examining substantial amounts of data, following suspicious anomalies, eliminating false leads and finding root causes. (Required)
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users. (Required)
  • Strongly detail oriented with the ability and desire to document all actions and results. (Required)
  • Able to plan and execute work to achieve desired results. (Required)
  • Ability to identify issues requiring escalation to IT specialists or management. (Required)
  • Proficient in the use of office software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project and web-based applications. (Required)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and growing environment with minimal supervision. (Required)
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley audits of corporate IT policies, processes and transactions. (Desired)
  • Experience in data & evidence collection in support of Sarbanes-Oxley audits of IT controls. (Desired)
  • Experience with EU-GDPR IT policies, processes and procedures. (Desired)
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing system and application audit log files to determine what, when and who for events. (Desired)
  • Experience in administration and configuration of Microsoft Office 365 in an enterprise environment, including Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online, Security & Compliance Center, Advanced Threat Protection and other Office 365 modules. (Desired)
  • Experience in user management, provisioning and security models of enterprise software applications such as Oracle eBusiness Suite and (Desired)
  • Experience in validating change management processes of IT infrastructure and business applications. (Desired)
  • Familiar with corporate IT practices, policies and procedures (Desired)

  • Up to 100% of their time will be spent working on the computer, reading, typing, and training/meeting with others.
  • This position requires the employee to work from within an Inogen facility. At the discretion of the employee's manager, an occasional and limited amount of work may be done remotely, however all remote work must be approved in advance.
  • This position may require working hours outside 8AM-5PM and may also include hours on Saturday and/or Sunday.
  • This position may require occasional air travel to other Inogen facilities for multiple days.


  • Associates degree or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in a technical field desired
  • 4 years or more in a corporate IT role as a technician, engineer or network administrator
  • 2 years or more as an IT security analyst, COSO or equivalent certification desired
