JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Product Manager is the frontline owner of Inogen's product portfolio.  This role assumes responsibility for product changes and justification, new product identification and commercialization, product position and pricing, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence.  The Product Manager acts as a project manager or team member as business needs dictate. Embraces responsibility for achievement of sales and business objectives.

Key Competencies:

  • Routinely monitors competitive activity and communicates competitive product changes to the Inogen team. Benchmarks Inogen products versus competitive products and develops product position and selling scripts to maximize sales and customer value proposition.
  • Monitors competitive pricing worldwide and develops Inogen pricing strategies consistent with product position and business objectives.
  • Publishes sales bulletins to internal sales force and external distribution sales force highlighting product position, selling strategies and scripts, competitive product changes, and Inogen product changes.
  • Identifies and establishes adequate post-sales support infrastructure and activities exist to provide total customer service experience commensurate with product and company brand position. This includes management of field repair programs.
  • Establishes part numbers for new SKUs, and establishes new parts in Inogen systems (Oracle, CRM).
  • Monitors customer feedback and makes new product and product change recommendations based on data analysis. Summarizes customer feedback and reports findings to Inogen management team on a regular basis.
  • Leads new product launches, including execution of end user studies, sales and customer service product training, and product positioning.
  • Develops product sales training programs for inside sales and external distributors.
  • Provides product support to key customers as needed.

  • Presentation skills required to build internal support for projects as well as sell customers/sales reps, etc. on product and programs.

  • Management Administration Skills Knowledge and experience in the following required:

                   o    Project Management

                   o    Lead cross-functional teams

                   o    Must have strong work ethic.

                   o    Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

                   o    Effective conflict resolution.

                   o    Analytical & problem-solving skills & ability to multi task.

                   o    Excellent planning, communication and organizational skills.

                   o    Ability to effectively interface with different departments within the company.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related technical discipline, required.
  • 3 years' experience as an Associate Product Manager or Engineer, required.
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office, online databases, required.
  • 1-3 years project management experience, preferred.
  • A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
