The Repair Manager is responsible for tracking the location and status of all Inogen's medical devices and accessories used to provide oxygen therapy for patients on Inogen's service.  This asset management responsibility also includes the turnaround process of receiving, cleaning, repairing and upgrading equipment cost effectively and efficiently to put the assets back into service as quickly as possible.  In addition to asset management, this position has responsibility for the repair of all warranty and non-warranty returns as well as repairs performed in the field.  Repairs must be closely tracked to assist in root causing sources of failures and ensuring that devices repaired in the field are repaired in a standardized, cost effective and timely manner.

This position is responsible for developing department objectives, the budgets associated with those objectives and tracking the execution of department performance against the objectives and the budget.

Key Competencies:

  • Create strategic plans to provide global repair capability to satisfy the needs of Inogen's direct to patient and business customers.
  • Maintain an accurate, transparent failure tracking system that will drive rapid reliability improvement as well as improve troubleshooting and repair methods.
  • Maintain a receiving, cleaning and repair process that will return Inogen assets to the field and customer owned devices to the customer in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Work with Customer Care Center to improve remote troubleshooting techniques to reduce the cost of "no trouble found" returns.
  • Work with Accounting and Customer Care Center to create procedures to reduce the risk of assets being "lost" in the field. This includes timely RMA creation and receipts as well as accurate asset management tracking using tracking software.
  • Working with Manufacturing and Logistics, analyze facility requirements to support the return, repair and return of both sold devices as well as Inogen's assets.
  • Working with the Sales Department, plan and execute a field service program that will support large business customers, provide Inogen the failure information necessary for reliability improvement, reduce freight charges and minimize the cost of parts and labor required to return the device back to full functionality.
  • Create a culture within the Technical Service group that adheres to Inogen's core values and utilizes the practices of lean manufacturing to eliminate waste and activities that do not provide value to either Inogen or the customer.
  • Ensure all practices comply with ISO-13485 standards, FDA regulations and all Medicare and state Department of Health policies.


Do you possess these abilities?

  • 6 year's minimum experience with specific experience /skills in: asset management; repair program management; lean manufacturing/six sigma or similar production methods; personnel management; effective communication and presentation skills.



  • Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or other technical discipline.
