JOB DESCRIPTION 

Manages and coordinates the transportation network within an organization. Handles domestic and/or international transportation request to meet customer needs. Responsible for evaluation and improvement of transportation network. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. This position is responsible for negotiating contracts with logistics companies and ensuring the performance of these companies meets the needs of Inogen and Inogen's customers.

Key Competencies:

  • Negotiate rates with and monitor the performance of logistics companies to support Inogen's various transportation requirements.
  • Drive our logistics cost reduction efforts.
  • Monitor lost shipments and work with claims and accounting to minimize the financial impact to the company.
  • Monitor and address resource requirements and provide budget inputs.

Do you possess these abilities?

  • Solid PC skills with a fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook E-mail
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills and intimate familiarity with UPS and FedEx contracts

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in business management, Industrial management or logistics is preferred
  • 7-10 years in the logistics field with 3-5 years management experience

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional work outside in hot and humid or cold conditions.
  • Primary work environment will be in environmentally controlled warehouse
  • Travel to California facility as needed
