JOB DESCRIPTION The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for the accurate reflection of materials on hand by verifying material transactions showing in the ERP system to the physical material and flow of material. Ensures that receiving of raw material and RMA product is completed accurately and timely and that any discrepancies are captured and corrected immediately. Works closely with the Supply Chain group and with the Production team to have material delivered in a timely manner to the production line as well as timely releases made to the suppliers. Finally, the inventory manager is responsible for monitoring inventory turns and making adjustments to kanban bin sizes or the number of cards to drive annual inventory turns over 20

Key Competencies

  • Manage material movement using kanban tracking to ensure production material is always available to assemblers
  • Work with the cycle counting team to correct any inventory transaction discrepancies that have caused inventory accuracy to fall outside the acceptable 99%.
  • Issue releases to suppliers in accordance with production usage and kanban card flow.
  • Frequently calculates inventory turns and makes adjustments to inventory bin sizes or bin cards to drive up annual inventory turns over 20
  • Maintains a visual inventory system so that production shut down for material shortages are prevented by easily spotting risks in time to correct the problem.
  • Work with suppliers holding Inogen inventory to verify receipts and shipments to and from the supplier are accurately transacted to match actual shipment and receipt quantities.
  • Manage the receiving team to verify the daily accuracy of receipts
  • Work closely with accounting to address invoice discrepancies associated with receiving variances.
  • Manage the proper transactions of materials shipping to and from Inogen facilties to ensure the transactions are done in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support full physical inventory audits.
  • Maintain kanban bins and issue and remove kanban cards as necessary when new parts are introduced and obsolete parts are removed

Requirements

  • 5 years experience operating in a Kanban material management system.
  • 5 years experience using lean manufacturing procedures in an assembly operation.
  • 5 years experience managing personnel
  • 2 years experience in a material receiving process is preferred.
