Coordinates activities involved with procuring Raw Material, Capital Equipment, Tools, Repair Parts, and Expense Supplies for the organization.  Gathers data and conducts analysis with the goal of improving the organization's Supply Chain Operation.  Partners with internal team members from Quality, Engineering, Operations, Regulatory and Accounting in order to Qualify, source and develop suppliers. Responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Company's needs.  Tracks purchases and delivery of Raw Materials to ensure continued operation of the production lines.  Maintains the individual supplier scorecard.  Assists the Supply Chain Manager and/or Director with Master Service Agreements (MSA), sourcing contracts, pricing, data analytics and continuous improvement.

Key Competencies:

  • Negotiates with vendors for supplies, equipment and services used by the company.
  • Coordinates with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Regulatory and Accounting on approving new suppliers.
  • Supports production plan with accurate, on time delivery of necessary materials using electronic Kanban System and basic requirements planning techniques.
  • Establish and maintain effective supplier relationships and identify alternate sources for material.
  • Work closely with production on all scheduling issues.
  • Monitoring suppliers' delivery performance including acknowledgement of Kanban card, on time shipping per required delivery schedule and card re-scheduling
  • Adjusts delivery of orders, follows up on back orders, and makes special arrangements for deliveries as required.
  • Work assertively and professionally with suppliers to resolve material availability issues
  • Works with Accounting and Receiving to resolve general problems with suppliers (i.e. - receiving errors, invoicing problems, etc.)
  • Ultriva system user responsible for maintaining accurate Kanban card values and adding and deleting cards as driven by BOM changes, product demand and product launches.
  • Responsible for training new suppliers on the use of Ultriva and emphasizing best practices.
  • Determine, research, and correct material inventory discrepancy issues.
  • Resolve general problems with suppliers (i.e. - receiving errors, invoicing problems, etc.)
  • Other duties may be added while performing this role.

Do you possess these abilities?

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Inventory management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Experience in using Ultriva Electronic eKanban Solution
  • Experience with using ERP systems, preferably Oracle
  • ISO 9000 skills recommended.


  • 1 - 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical device manufacturing
  • Level I, 0-5 Years exp., HS Diploma - Coordinates 20 or less non-critical suppliers,
