JOB DESCRIPTION 

Supports the Accounting department by implementing process and system improvements throughout the organization.

Key Competencies:

  • Primary contact for accounting-initiated IT program changes and program development.
  • Manages CAP EX development budget, performs cost benefit analysis, collaborates with finance department managers to establish priorities, estimates, and review actual expenses.
  • Ensures Accounting user acceptance test plans are well planned, executed and documented.
  • Ensures Work Instructions (WIs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Accounting SOX Narratives are updated through the remediation process and as controls, systems and processes change.
  • Provides better insight for Finance Management over operational transactions and process improvements.
  • Develops and implements systems and processes for collecting, analyzing, and verifying financial information and key performance indicators.
  • Develops system controls to ensure data integrity.
  • Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy, applying observations and recommendation to operational issues.
  • Collaborates with other finance department managers to support overall department goals.
  • Assists in the preparation and/or review of audit schedules.
  • Assists in the review of financial forecasting models.

 

Do you possess these abilities?

  • Experience with financial accounting software and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Solid accounting knowledge including GAAP, along with the ability to take direction and communicate effectively with customers and suppliers, as well as employees at all level of organization.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills aimed at conflict management and resolution.

Work Conditions:

  • Office environment
  • Some work done on the manufacturing/receiving floor
  • Some travel required

Requirements:

  • 4 year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study preferred, plus 6-8 years' experience in the field or a related area. Consideration given to equivalent combinations.
  • Certified Public Accountant is a plus.
