JOB DESCRIPTION 

The HME Driver Technician is responsible for the delivery and education in the use of home medical equipment to clients or patients of Inogen.  This could include delivery and setup of Inogen provided equipment, delivery and pickup of testing equipment, reports and documentation, and participating in sales related activities.

Key Competencies:

  • Represent Inogen in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients.
  • Schedule and deliver home medical equipment to client/patients' homes.
  • Obtain appropriate client/patient documentation.
  • Pick up and clean home medical equipment as needed.
  • Complete Residence Home Assessment
  • Maintain HME delivery records.
  • Assist in resolving client equipment problems when appropriate.
  • Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with Inogen policy.
  • Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
  • Participate in Inogen's Quality Improvement (QI) program as requested by the QI Coordinator.
  • Participate in committees when requested.
  • Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Mid Management.
  • Maintain auto insurance at Inogen specified coverage levels.

  • Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate skills required to remotely and directly instruct patients in the safe placement and use of Inogen supplied equipment.
  • Safe driving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear.
  • The employee is required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
