JOB DESCRIPTION  Provides HR Business Partner support to Goleta site management. Manages multiple functional aspects of HR including Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Workers' Compensation, and Leave of Absences.  Responsible for ensuring HR programs meet company objectives, comply with legal requirements, are consistent with company values, and are cost effective.  Develops, updates and administers policies and procedures relating to all phases of personnel activity.

Key Competencies

  • Partners with site management to create a positive workplace culture through the development of HR programs, and the administration of HR policies, consistent with company values and designed to help meet company business objectives
  • Manages the company's employee benefits-health, welfare, 401k plan, Workers Comp, LOA's, et al-renewals, audits and administration - in accordance with their respective plan descriptions and in compliance with all state and federal requirements.
  • Administers company compensation programs fairly and equitably. Ensures that compensation programs support the organization's strategic objectives and enhance the organization's ability to recruit and retain employees. Provide competitive market salary data as needed.
  • Responsible for the HR Information System (HRIS) – system updates, maintenance, enhancements, connections, reporting, etc. – to automate, streamline and efficiently manage all HR transactions.
  • Maintains current with all state and federal employment laws and regulations ensuring the company's policies, actions and employee handbook are up to date and legally compliant.

Do you possess these abilities?

  • Knowledge of current CA state and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of employee benefits- health, welfare, 401k plan, workers comp, LOA's, etc
  • Knowledge of compensation systems, programs, and market pay practices
  • Skilled in employee relations matters and management coaching
  • Excellent data analysis, problem solving, and decision making skills.

Qualfications

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Economics with emphasis in HR, Org Behavior, Industrial Psychology or its equivalent education and experience
  • 7+ years total professional level HR experience required with 1-2 years prior experience as an HR Manager in a corporate environment with at least 500 employees desired
  • Professional HR certification desired
  • Prior experience working for a publicly traded company desired
  • Prior experience in high growth rapidly changing company desired
  • Prior experience in Medical equipment/device industry desired 
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%-30% of the time
