JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Sr. Operations Analyst will support Manufacturing through development and tracking of budgets/forecasts as well as analysis including labor costing, activity costing, and process/system optimization. This position delivers analysis linking operations performance drivers to financial results and is responsible for the development and maintenance of manufacturing system performance monitoring tools as well as preparing weekly/monthly manufacturing variance reports and routine forecasting activities. This role will partner with accounting to build a culture of data driven decision making that sustains disciplined execution and continuous improvement within the Operations Department.

Key Competencies:

  • Support EVP of Operations, Site and Operations Director, Supply Chain Director along with Manufacturing and Repair managers with plant costing activities, including material, labor, freight and other overhead expenses.
  • Support EVP of Operations and the Site and Operations Director in development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Work with the accounting department as required to create weekly variance analysis reports on accounts driving both L/OH and COGS outside the manufacturing process.
  • Develop reports and charts as needed to support new initiatives.
  • Use Inogen's ERP system and Inogen's other available reporting software to perform in depth investigations as required to root cause inefficiencies or other issues resulting in significant cost variances.
  • Prepare cost updates and PPV Analysis
  • Maintain quality and reliability metrics
  • Calculate warranty reserve estimates
  • Calculate E & O estimates
  • system set-up maintenance
  • Identify root cause of inventory variances
  • Member of inventory count team
  • Interface with IT for operational reporting dashboards, etc.
  • Provide weekly updates on Kanban sizes, replenishment frequencies and on time shipping to identify risks or failures in the Kanban process.
  • Perform other assignments as required by the EVP of Operations

Do you possess these abilities?

  • Knowledge of cost accounting and application of general accounting theory
  • 5 to 7 years professional level experience
  • Strong communications and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Thorough understanding of inventory movement as it relates to production, work orders, bills of materials, etc.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions through logic and critical thinking skills
  • Understanding of the key performance indicators and how to measure them
  • Able to apply root cause analysis to resolve systematic or reoccurring control issues
  • Demonstrated ability to develop/implement new practices to improve system utilization and reliability
  • Strong learning agility. Able to learn new platforms/ technologies quickly; strong troubleshooting skills; takes initiative to learn and build his/her own capability
  • Work well under pressure to meet multiple and competing deadlines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Operations Management or related field
  • 5 years' operating in a manufacturing environment performing data analysis, costing and forecasting
