JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Director of Product Management is a leadership position, responsible for the Company's products from identification through retirement, across all global sales channels.  The position drives the vision, roadmap, and execution of the Company's products and services. The role will manage a team of Product Management professionals, but is also hands-on to enable execution.  The Director of Product Management assumes responsibility for product changes and justification, new product identification and commercialization, product position and pricing, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence.

  • The scope of the position is global and applies to all Inogen product and service offerings. Strategic planning and tactical execution are essential functions of the role in order to create product vision and translate vision into product roadmap and end-to-end execution.
  • Embrace responsibility for achievement of sales and business objectives.
  • Act as Inogen's voice of the customer by gaining insight into the needs and wants of patients and B2B customers. Routinely speak to and visit customers to identify opportunities for improvement and to ensure current and future products achieve desired business results.
  • Identify new products/services that position the Company with a strategic advantage over competition. Own and maintain the product roadmap to guide product development.
  • Lead the launch of new products across all departments. Own all product changes and improvements through the product lifecycle and discontinue products at the end of life when appropriate, full end-to-end execution.
  • Lead a team of Product Management professionals to deliver innovative solutions that achieve business objectives and satisfy customer requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing leads to ensure successful product design and delivery. Make continuous improvements throughout product life.
  • Responsible for competitive intelligence and the communication of competitive offerings and pricing throughout the Company.
  • Responsible for pricing strategy and implementation consistent with product position and business objectives in all sales channels.
  • Identify and establish adequate post-sales support infrastructure and activities that exist to provide total customer service experience commensurate with product and company brand position. This includes responsibility of field repair programs.
  • Lead the Company's customer feedback activities throughout all sales channels.
  • Ensure product support is provided to key customers as needed

  • Collaboration & Teamwork to establish good working relationships between engineering, marketing, sales, regulatory, and manufacturing.
  • Must have Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing internal and external variables.
  • Must be adept at Organization, Planning & Execution to manage product development and launch process.
  • Communication skills required to effectively cultivate a team environment.
  • Presentation skills required to build internal support for projects as well as sell customers/sales reps, etc. on product and programs.
  • Decision Making & Problem-Solving skills required to provide clear direction for priorities and responsibilities.
  • Management Administration Skills Knowledge and experience in the following required:
    • Project Management
    • Lead cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to adhere to strict deadlines are of paramount importance. Candidate will possess strong written/verbal communications skills and be able to craft necessary documentation with minimal supervision. 
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, online databases.
  • Advanced project management skills are required.
  • Proven track record of setting product vision and translating vision into product roadmap and end-to-end execution.
  • Bachelor Degree (4 yr.) required, Engineering degree preferred, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years experience within the Product Management field. Medical device experience preferred. 
  • 5+ years in a Director or Senior Manager role with direct responsibility for product identification and lifecycle management
