JOB DESCRIPTION Senior-Staff or Staff Tax Accountant will be primarily responsible with all tax-related functions, from researching multi-state and international tax laws and compliance including all forms of compensation related employee benefits, local, state and federal tax returns, sales & use reports, property tax returns, corporate tax provisions, and assisting in research of different forms of tax structures for future business investments and/or subsidiaries.

 

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Compile a local, state, federal and international database in regards to current operations, and ensure compliance with all jurisdictions.
  • Potentially implement a separate tax compliance software to incorporate with monthly monitoring and reporting.
  • Compile and prepare sales & use tax returns on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Compile and prepare personal property tax returns by state.
  • Work with the outside tax firms on quarterly and annual provision for financial statements.
  • Review and assist in setting up proper accounting controls to properly classify research and development costs to ensure full utilization of R & D Credits.
  • Research and work with outside tax firms to identify areas to decrease effective tax rate.
  • Assist in reviewing current benefit related structures to ensure compliance with corporate and employee reporting.
  • Reconcile income tax payable/receivable, deferred tax asset and liabilities accounts on a monthly basis. Prepare necessary adjusting entries.
  • Analyze operating losses by state and surrounding assumptions to ensure availability for use in tax provision and returns.
  • May assist in other accounting related functions in the monthly accounting close as time permits.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting
  • CPA is preferred, but experience may be substituted.
