JOB DESCRIPTION 

Reporting to the Director, Information Systems, this position oversee's the IT support for an Inogen location and acts as the key local IT resource.  Install, manage, configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, servers, phones, peripherals and network devices, as well as Internet access and other networked services used at Inogen. Provide primary IT Helpdesk support to local and remote users.  Monitor network and systems for performance, security,and other issues. Work with other IT staff and 3rd party vendors to provide support of key IT systems. Responsible for inventory of hardware and software, works in collaboration with supervisor to manage IT provided resources and follow IT standards and processes. Develop IT procedures and provide documents as required. Train junior IT staff as necessary.

Key Competencies:

  • Partner with Inogen department managers to capture new IT requirements, design cost effective solutions and resolve issues
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade desktop, laptop, tablet and other client hardware, operating systems, applications and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, maintain and upgrade servers and storage system hardware, operating systems, applications and peripherals.
  • Install, monitor, maintain and upgrade network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless access point, cabling, and related equipment and software. Participate in disaster recovery and capacity management.
  • Install, monitor, maintain and upgrade VoIP telephone handsets, headsets, switches, servers and end-user phone applications.
  • Perform scheduled data backups of servers and maintain backups of all company data stored on the network/Tapes.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot problems with hardware and software.
  • Establish, create and follow IT client, server, network and security standards and procedures.
  • Manage user accounts, configure user access to local area network (LAN).
  • Support remote users accessing Inogen systems via the Internet and/or VPN and troubleshoot network and desktop connectivity problems.
  • Cooridinate and facilitate obtaining support from 3rd party IT vendors and partners to resolve problems or implement new systems.
  • Support of printing, faxing, scanning and barcode subsystems and devices.
  • Respond to Helpdesk requests as assigned and provide deskside and phone end-user support.
  • Train IT Technicians to troubleshoot Inogen IT helpdesk requests.
  • Coordinate all activities with other IT employees and management.

 

Do you possess these abilities?

  • Possess strong communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users. (Required)
  • Expertise in maintaining MS Windows domains including creating and maintaining user and workstation entries in Active Directory, joining workstations to the domain, maintaining group policies, etc. (Required)
  • Expertise in installing and maintaining client and server hardware and operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Mac, etc.(Required)
  • Expertise in installing and maintaining inkjet and laser printers, scanners, copiers and multifunction devices. (Required)
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and configuring network switches, firewalls, routers, wireless access points and peripherals. (Required)
  • Expertise in installing and configuring client software such as MS Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Project and web-based applications. (Required)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and growing environment with minimal supervision. (Required)
  • Ability to identify issues requiring escalation to IT specialists or management. (Required)
  • Knowledgeable with file/disk management, data transfer, performance management and maintenance utilities, anti-virus/anti-malware tools (Required)
  • Knowledge in configuring and using Shoretel VoIP phone systems. (Desired)
  • Knowledge of client issues related to Oracle eBusiness Suite R12, Salesforce CRM and New Voice Media Call Center systems. (Desired)
  • Familiar with corporate IT practices, policies and procedures (Desired)

 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, some college desired
  • 4 years or more in various computer systems and network administration
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident required, no H-1B Visa
