JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for managing the company's Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.

Key Competencies:

  • AP: Oversee 3-way match and expense invoice and payment processing--for timely and accruate payments to vendors
  • AP: Vendor relations; research/resolve issues
  • AP: Work with Purchasing and Inventory Control to address issues related to purchase orders and receiving
  • AP: Attend and give feedback at Quarterly Supplier Review Meeting
  • AP: Corporate credit card administration (add/cancel/adjust limits to corporate credit cards)
  • AP: Form 1099 annual filings
  • AP: Review weekly check runs
  • AP: Account reconciliation of inventory receipts not vouched
  • Payroll: Review, approve and submit bi-weekly payroll
  • Payroll: Interface with HR department to ensure all payroll transactions are properly authorized and recorded
  • Payroll: Multiple state tax reporting--set-up and monitoring
  • Payroll: Enforce and manage payroll policy and related processes
  • Payroll: Attend relevant payroll training sessions
  • Payroll: Facilitate any updates or changes to ADP software
  • General: Help develop and maintain SOX compliance in areas of oversight
  • General: Interface effectively with Accounting staff
  • General: Hire, train, mentor, and develop staff members
  • General: Establish and maintain best practices for AP and payroll processes
  • General: Assist with annual financial statement audits and other periodic audits by outside agencies (bank, workers comp, 401k, etc.)
  • General: Report on and analyze department metrics
  • General: Initiate and execute process improvement and automation projects
  • General: Any other duties assigned by supervisor


Qualifications:

  • Hands-on manager who is equally comfortable working on the day-to-day details as well as on higher level review, analysis, and reporting
  • Effective conflict resolution
  • Must have experience with MS Office and with computer accounting systems (Oracle EBS preferred)
  • Excellent planning, communication and organizational skills required
  • Must be able to effectively interface with different organizations within and outside of the company
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in AP (manufacturing environment preferred) and Payroll (ADP experience preferred)
  • 3+ years of personnel management experience
