JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for performing accounts payable functions, administration of Concur and various Accounts Payable related systems. Also involved in continuous improvement projects in the Accounts Payable Department.

Key Competencies:

  • Review all assigned vendor expense invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Process 3-way P.O. matching invoices for assigned vendors.
  • Process payment runs as assigned.
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
  • Maintain accurate records and control reports.
  • Audit and process payments made via AP purchasing card.
  • 1099 maintenance and annual filing.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Take full ownership of assigned vendors by reconciling vendor statements monthly as well as researching and correcting discrepancies to ensure minimal outstanding items on problem log, 2013 account, and AP aging.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Assist with projects to improve efficiency within the department and the company in general.
  • Be a champion of continuous improvement and initiate action plans. Solution focused not problem focused.
  • Able to work effectively with multiple departments to solve problems in a timely and diplomatic manager.
  • Document all work processes in detail.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to follow standard filing procedures.
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures relating to payables processing.
  • Ability to type 60-65 wpm & 10 key touch.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • College course work in related field, preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, required.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, required.
  • Oracle experience, preferred.
  • A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
